Sichuan Earthquake Teaching Tour
On May 12, 2008, an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Sichuan Province in China, which killed more than 69,000 and left 11 million people homeless. School children have fallen into victim in the earthquake due to shoddy construction. More than 7,000 school buildings in Sichuan collapsed, burying thousands of children.
Sichuan Teaching Project is the first event of ACED that would extend our impact outside of our campus to China. We aim to restore youth hope and empower students by providing language training and cultural understanding workshops, while our ambassadors would benefit from this eye-opening experience in studying the economic redevelopment process in Sichuan.
